Followed Scottie Scheffler’s incredible gold medal win at the Olympic Games, the PGA TOUR season continues this week with the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club (par 70, 7,131 yards, Bermuda greens) in Greensboro, North Carolina. Since 2008, this course, designed by Donald Ross, has been home to the Wyndham Championship, and Lucas Glover is the defending champion of this event, winning by two strokes last year at -20. This week’s field features 156 golfers, and there will be a standard top-65 tournament, and ties will be broken after the first 36 holes. The Wyndham Championship is the last event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs begin next week at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and only the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings will qualify for this opening event of the playoffs.
The PGA DFS Breakdown provides data-driven analysis for each week’s slate, using FantasyLabs tools and metrics to highlight notable golfers.
I’ll highlight the best cash game/single entry plays on the DraftKings main roster, but these players are often great options in any competition.
In my analysis I will frequently refer to Strokes wona set of proprietary metrics generated by the PGA TOUR using millions of data points to calculate how many strokes a player needs, on average, to put the ball in the hole from any distance and in any situation.
Strokes Gained is now available in FantasyLabs PGA models.
There are a variety of metrics for the number of strokes gained, but the six main categories you need to know are:
- Strokes scored: Tee (SG: discount)
- Strokes won: approach (SG: approach)
- Strokes scored: Around the green (SG: Around the Green)
- Strokes scored: Putting (SG: Putten)
- Strokes achieved: Ball strike (SG: Ball-Striking), that is SG: Off-the-Tee + SG: Approach
- Strokes scored: Tee to green (SG: Tee-to-Green), which is SG: Ball-Striking + SG: Around-the-Green
Don’t forget to look at two important metrics in our models – Perfect% and SimLeverage. You can find an explanation of these metrics here.
In short, SimLeverage allows you to quickly find leverage games in tournaments, while Perfect% is great for finding the best priced games for cash games.
And don’t forget to use our various PGA DFS tools like our Lineup Optimizer, Lineup Builder, PGA Correlation Dashboard and our Trends tool.
The following list of players is based on DraftKings ratings and prices.

DraftKings $10,000+ Range
Sunjae Im (10,700 USD) – Im is in sensational form and should have cost over $11,000 given the weak competition he faces this week. The 26-year-old is coming off a T7 finish at the Open Championship and has remarkably finished inside the top 12 in eight of his last 10 starts. Im has gained strokes in every major category in three of his last four starts and has three top-10 finishes in five appearances at Sedgefield, including a runner-up finish in 2022. Im is in prime position to earn his third PGA TOUR victory this weekend and starting your cash game lineup with him should be a priority.
DraftKings $9,000 Range
Davis Thompson ($9,200) – Thompson is a huge expense this week, most notably his four-stroke win at the John Deere Classic, which has seen the 25-year-old finish in the top 10 in three of his last five starts. Alongside that convincing win, Thompson has two other top 10 finishes on Ross-designed courses during this stretch, which is excellent news with Sedgefield next up. If we analyze the results of this field on Ross-designed courses this season, Thompson sits No. 1 in strokes gained per round by a comfortable margin over the Rabbit Hole. The rising star finished a solid T22 at Sedgefield a year ago, but Thompson is a far better player now and should finish in the top 10 this weekend. Heading to Sedgefield this week, Thompson will be 61 places higher in the World Golf Rankings than he was last year when he teed off there.
Min Woo Lee ($9,000) – Lee has finished at least tied for 26th in six of his last eight starts, including a runner-up finish at the Rocket Mortgage Classic played on another Ross course at Detroit Golf Club. Lee has finished at least tied for 21st in each of his last three starts on a Ross course, and he has averaged an excellent 2.1 strokes per round gained over the Rabbit Hole in those three starts. Lee is clearly a big fan of Ross’ courses, and he should make some noise in his debut at Sedgefield this week, especially considering he will need to put together a strong performance to stay on the bubble for next week’s FedEx Cup Playoffs. Currently, Lee is ranked 62nd in the FedEx Cup standings, and a poor finish at the Wyndham Championship would likely push him out of the top 70.

DraftKings $8,000 Range
Cam Davis ($8,900) – Davis is in compelling form and always a sharp target on a Ross course. Davis has finished 1st, 26th and 19th in his last three starts and this win came at the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Ross-designed Detroit Golf Club, which is, remarkably, Davis’ second win at the course. The 29-year-old’s record at Sedgefield is also impressive, never finishing worse than 22nd in three starts, including a career-high 7th last season. Davis has gained strokes on the approach shot in three consecutive starts and absolutely has the potential to finish in the top 10 again this weekend at Sedgefield.
Christian Bezuidenhout ($8,700) – Bezuidenhout has never missed a cut in his three starts at Sedgefield and the South African is fresh off a tie for 16th place at the Paris Olympics last week, including a 7-under-par third-round 64 that left him just two strokes off the event’s lowest score. Aside from his first-round withdrawal from the Genesis Scottish Open, Bezuidenhout has finished in the top 25 in four of his last six starts and his chances of winning the Wyndham Championship this weekend are undervalued. At DraftKings Sportsbook, Bezuidenhout has odds of +3500 to win, which is the same odds as Jordan Spiethwhich is significantly more expensive at DFS at $9,500.
DraftKings $7,000 Range
Max Greyserman ($7,600) – Greyserman has been on a roll lately, finishing in the top 35 in six straight tournaments. The highlight of that streak was a runner-up finish at the 3M Open in his last start. At TPC Twin Cities this week, Greyserman gained strokes in every major category and finished the event with an 8-under-par 63, which was the lowest score of the 3M Open and a new career low for Greyserman on the PGA TOUR. The 29-year-old has shot just once over par in his last 20 rounds and should flourish in his debut at Sedgefield this week. While it’s a limited sample, Greyersman has gained strokes in six of his eight rounds on Ross-designed courses so far in his PGA TOUR career. If you weren’t already sold on Greyserman, he should be highly motivated this week as well, as he’s at 64.th in the FedEx Cup standings.
Taylor Moore ($7,500) – Moore finished tied for 5th and tied for 22nd at the last two Wyndham Championships and is on pace to finish tied for 12th at the 3M Open. Aside from his driver, Moore gained strokes in every major category in this finish and was just tied for 10th last month at Detroit Golf Club, which, as mentioned above, is another Ross design. Moore has seven top-25 finishes this season and is an appealing offer at this salary. For last year’s Wyndham Championship, Moore was valued at $8,000.
Adam Svensson ($7,400) – Svensson is a surefire performer in the cash games this week. The Canadian has missed just two cuts in his last 15 starts and has yet to miss a cut in three appearances on the Sedgefield course, including a T7 last season. Svensson is a consistent iron player – he ranks 40th in SG: Approach this season – and he ranks third in 400-450-yard par 4 efficiency when we analyze the last 24 rounds of this field, which bodes very well for Sedgefield. Eight of the 12 par 4s on this par 70 are between 400 and 450 yards and four of the last five winners at Sedgefield have finished the event in the top three in efficiency on those particular holes.
Matt Kuchar ($7,300) – At the 3M Open two weeks ago, Kuchar finished tied for 3rd thanks to an incredible performance with his irons. The veteran led the entire field with a whopping 10.1 strokes gained on approach shots, which is the most strokes Kuchar has ever gained in the major category. With this being the sixth straight start in which the 46-year-old has gained strokes on approach shots, Kuchar has clearly found something with his ball striking, and if that trend can continue at Sedgefield, the nine-time PGA TOUR winner should have no trouble making the cut. In his last two appearances at this par 70, Kuchar finished tied for 29th in 2021 and tied for 38th last season.
DraftKings $6,000 and under
Ben Kohles ($6,900) – Kohles has missed just two cuts in his last 12 starts and has played well during that time when competing on a Ross course, with a T56 at Pinehurst No. 2 for the U.S. Open and a T20 at Detroit Golf Club for the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Kohles made 2 of 3 cuts at Sedgefield and his accurate driver sets him up perfectly for his return to the course this week. Kohles ranks second in drive accuracy this season and four of the last five winners at Sedgefield have finished in the top five in fairways.
Matthew Nesmith ($6,700) – Nesmith is very attractive at a salary under $7,000. The veteran has made the cut at three of the last four Wyndham Championships and finished 2nd, MC and T9 in his last three starts. His last appearance was at the 3M Open, and that finish at TPC Twin Cities saw Nesmith gain strokes in every major category for the first time this season. Nesmith will look to build on that performance and should at least make the cut this week.
