Shah Rukh Khan is back in action as the Lion King in the prequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 animated film The Lion King. The actor plays the title role in Mufasa: The Lion King and provides the voice for the photorealistic animated musical drama. Besides Shah Rukh, Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan have also lent their voices to the characters Simba and young Mufasa for the Hindi dub. Sanjay Mishra, Shreyas Talpade in Mufasa: The Lion King
The trailer shows the old mandrill Rafiki along with Pumbaa and Timon narrating the legend of Mufasa to young Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala. Shreyas Talpade and Sanjay Mishra have lent their voices to Timon and Pumbaa respectively. The trailer shows the story of how the orphaned Mufasa was rescued by the lion cub Daka, who later becomes known as Scar. The story deals with Mufasa’s brotherly bond with Daka and how he is accepted as a son in his family. Shah Rukh voices the adult Mufasa. The trailer culminates with both brothers teaming up in a fight for the throne of the Lion King against lions from another clan.
Fans welcome Hindi trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King
Fans praised the new collaboration of Shah Rukh, AbRam and Aryan and expressed their excitement for the dubbed Hindi version. One fan commented, “Will watch this film just to hear his voice (smiling emoji).” Another fan wrote, “No one can portray a king better than the king himself (blessing emojis).” A fan also commented, “Will watch the whole film just for Shah Rukh Khan and to hear Aryan Khan’s voice (heart emoji).” One user commented, “Shah and his legacy are second to none (emotional and heart emojis).” Another fan wrote, “So the king dubs another king (crown emoji).”
About Mufasa: The Lion King
Mufasa: The Lion King is also a sequel to the 2019 remake. In the previous installment, Shah Rukh had served as the voiceover for Mufasa, while Aryan lent his voice to the protagonist, the adult Simba. The film is based on Disney’s The Lion King by Irene Mecchi, Jonathan Roberts and Linda Woolverton.
The release of “Mufasa: The Lion King” is scheduled for December 20th.
