Alan Cumming treats his job as host of the US version of “The Traitors” like a film role.
The actor has hosted two seasons of the hit game show and revealed that he is “an amazing actress” and even compared himself to Jennifer Aniston in her hit drama series “The Morning Show.”
Alan told The Hollywood Reporter: “In a film, you get dressed in the morning, put on your costume, do your makeup and hair. That’s very important for me to understand who the character is…
“I act like crazy in ‘The Traitors,’ just like I did in ‘The Good Wife,’ and it’s this very juicy thing like I do in the theater or would do at the Tonys.”
Alan revealed that he wears an earpiece that gives him lines and directions from a producer and that it makes him feel like a TV star.
He added: “I like wearing a little earbud. I feel like Jennifer Aniston on ‘The Morning Show’ but with better clothes.”
He has already filmed a third series of the show and admits there is one player that audiences love to hate. Alan explained: “I can’t wait for you to see who it was and what it was – they lied so much and so dramatically. They really got on my nerves!”
Alan has become known for his outlandish costumes on the show, but he insists that he is only playing a role on television and does not dress like that every day.
He previously told The Telegraph newspaper: “People imagine me dressing like I do in ‘The Traitors’, but that’s a character – I play Moira Rose from (the TV series) Schitt’s Creek, who plays me.”
“I usually look like an eccentric old man in sandals, yoga pants and a T-shirt that says ‘Namasgay’.”
