NEWTOWN, PA — The Council Rock Newtown 12U baseball team is preparing for its Little League World Series appearance this week in Williamsport after winning the USA Mid-Atlantic Championship on Friday in Bristol, Connecticut.
The team’s game is scheduled for Thursday, August 15, at 7 p.m. at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, where they will face a Little League team from Boerne, Texas, the winner of the Southwest Region. Boerne is located just outside of San Antonio, Texas.
The game is scheduled to be televised on ESPN.
The Newtown team enters the tournament with an 18-0 record after winning the Mid-Atlantic Tournament and defeating Washington, DC, 5-1 in the championship round on a rainy Friday morning in New England.
The team includes players from Sol Feinstone, Goodnoe, Newtown and St. Andrew’s elementary schools.

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant Newtown is hosting a Give20 fundraiser to support the team on August 15. Throughout the day, Iron Hill will donate 20 percent of all sales, including all takeout orders, to the team. Just specify that your order supports Council Rock Newtown Little League. Iron Hill will also show the game at 7 p.m.
