Big news for fans of Shah Rukh Khan: The superstar will be dubbing the Hindi version of the long-awaited film along with his two sons Aryan and AbRam. Mufasa – The Lion King. The makers today unveiled the Hindi trailer of the film and announced the collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and his sons. Shah Rukh Khan will lend his voice to Mufasa, while Aryan will lend his voice to Simba and AbRam to young Mufasa. Shah Rukh Khan shared the trailer with the caption, “Bas ek hi hoga jungle ka raja. The king @iamsrk is back as Mufasa with #AryanKhan and #AbRamKhan by his side. Mufasa: The Lion King hits theatres on December 20th.” Check it out:
Commenting on the association, Shah Rukh Khan said in a statement, “Mufasa has an incredible legacy and is the ultimate king of the jungle who passes on his wisdom to his son Simba. I have a deep connection with him as a father and I can also identify with Mufasa’s journey in the film. Mufasa: The Lion King shows Mufasa’s life from childhood to his rise to become an incredible king and it has been extraordinary to bring this character back to life. For me, collaborating with Disney is special especially because my sons Aryan and AbRam are part of this journey and it is really meaningful to share this experience with them.”
The film was directed by Oscar winner Barry Jenkins, the screenplay was written by Jeff Nathanson, and Lin-Manuel Miranda composed the original music for the English version. Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. lend their voices to the younger incarnations of Mufasa and Scar, while James Earl Jones reprises his role as Mufasa’s voice. Jeremy Irons and Chiwetel Ejiofor previously lent their voices to Scar in the 1994 original and the 2019 remake.
