Eleven Syrians, including six children, were injured in an Israeli bombing raid on the town of Maaroub in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported on Sunday, August 11, that an Israeli airstrike on Maaroub left 12 people injured, including 11 Syrians and one Lebanese citizen.
According to the agency and the Ministry of Health’s Public Health Operations Center, there are two critical cases: a woman and a five-month-old Syrian girl.
Among the other injured Syrian children are two girls aged five and seven, a twelve-year-old girl and two boys aged eleven.
The bombing of Maaroub is part of an ongoing escalation and mutual shelling between the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Israeli army following the Israeli war on Gaza following the Hamas movement’s Al-Aqsa flooding operation against Israel on October 7, 2023.
Southern Lebanon, and especially the border areas, bore the brunt of Israeli bombing, whether through artillery and rocket fire or through Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks.
