Ellee Duke is an American artist, songwriter, and entrepreneur. Blending true life stories with organic, whimsical elements, Ellee has a gift for expressing complicated emotions in a unique, soulful way. Ellee achieved her first Billboard #1 with a song called “Craving,” which she co-wrote with Arty and Audien. Her other hits include Lukas Graham, Slayyyter, Charlotte Lawrence, JLO, Walk Off the Earth, Alexander Stewart, Ali Simpson, and Blu Eyes.
In late 2023, she had two songs on the Slayyyter album “Rhinestone Heart” and “Dramatic” which entered the top 10 on the Billboard charts and the project was voted one of the best pop albums of 2023 by Spotify. Josh Gudwin mixed her recent single release “I Hate Cardio” which has been on several editorial playlists for over 8 months.
Ellee’s core values of integrity and empathy have earned her a loyal, enthusiastic audience with more than 13 million views on TikTok and 25 million streams worldwide.
Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, Ellee dreamed of being an artist since she was five years old. Coming from a very religious Mormon household, writing songs became a way for her to express herself in a way she wasn’t always allowed. Ellee continued to write her own material and by the age of 17 had hundreds of her own songs. This propelled Ellee to Nashville, where she found early success with major labels and publishing deals. But as a young woman in an industry that demands ideals of you, finding yourself is nearly impossible. “Over the years, I lost myself trying to be what I thought others wanted.” Ellee embarked on a 12-show tour of the West Coast and fell in love with Los Angeles. She felt a sense of creative freedom and weightless belonging that she had craved her entire life and moved there shortly after.
Since then, Ellee has decided to embark on a journey back to herself and quickly found healing in being an independent artist and songwriter. This also led to her leaving the Mormon religion, which brought its own struggles. Some of her family members no longer speak to her. But Ellee continues to hold her head high and knows she is living a brave, unfiltered life that she will proudly sign her name to.
Ellee now has numerous tours and releases under her belt and is taking the music world by storm as a creative personality and role model.
With a fresh mindset and unspoken experience, Ellee writes her most vulnerable work yet. She’s focused on building a healthy, loving relationship with herself and is ready to reveal to her fans how she came out of the darkness. “So many of us struggle to figure out how to exist in a world that’s constantly telling us how to live and who to be… As a woman, and especially as an artist, you’re constantly shamed and underestimated for ‘feeling too much.’ I want to show others that emotions aren’t a weakness, they’re a superpower. And anyone can become the person they’re meant to be by living raw and authentically.”
Her latest single, “fragile,” is a great celebration of underestimation. She admits, “I’m very at peace with people thinking they know me and calling me that. I know who I am and I don’t need anyone but myself. This song got me through one of the darkest, loneliest times of my life and I hope it will be an anthem for others who stay true to themselves no matter how difficult life can get.”
