The West Bengal Police (WBP) Recruitment Board has collected applications for recruitment in Kolkata Police from March 1, 2024, with the last date for submission being March 29, 2024. The recruitment panel intends to fill the 3734 vacancies, including 3464 posts for police officers and 270 for police women.

Selection procedure for KP constables
The selection process for Kolkata Police involves various stages which are listed below:
- Preliminary examination: This is the first stage of the selection process. It is conducted as a screening test. It is conducted to assess the awareness of the candidates. Selected candidates are invited to the next stage of the selection process.
- Physical measurement test: After the written exam, a physical measurement test is conducted. This test measures the candidates’ chest circumference, height and weight.
- Physical performance test: In this phase, candidates are tested in running, long jump and high jump.
