Black Tie Bash (Chapter Seven) circled the racetrack to win the Preferred Handicap Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday (August 8).
The gelding trailed in the first half of the :27 and :57 times set by Kinnder Motown (Marie-Claude Auger) and Warrawee Xalt (Ryan Guy). Robert Shepherd pushed Black Tie Bash into cover on the turn to the back straight and held him in third place at 1:26 until three quarters of the way.
The outside current fanned out four abreast as they entered the home straight and the far-out Black Tie Bash made the strongest start. The gelding overtook three rivals in the final furlong to win by two and a half lengths in a time of 1:55.1.
Emma Town Bud (Pierre Bovay) finished second after finishing first. Meadowbranch Noble (Guy Gagnon) was third in the photo.
