FRIDAY: Yet another front will be getting ready to move into the region and start the weekend. Before that, another mix of clouds and sun will ensure that highs rise again to over 25 degrees in the afternoon hours. Behind the front, northerly winds will blow, which will cause a significant drop in humidity – especially in the evening and night hours. Lows will fall to over 15 degrees by early Saturday.
WEEKEND PLANNER: Our sweeping front will help keep temperatures in check across the Mid-South through Saturday and Sunday. Expect mostly to partly sunny skies with highs around 27 degrees and lows around 15 degrees. A few more clouds may mix in from time to time, though – humidity will remain quite low, especially by mid-August standards.
EXTENDED TIME: As the new week begins, an expanding ridge of high pressure will form eastward from Texas. Expect temperatures to return to “closer to average” as the week progresses. Highs will be just above 35 degrees, with a mix of clouds and sun. If the ridge is strong enough, the heat could increase and rain chances will remain low. But if the ridge is a little weaker, we could see some showers and thunderstorms mid-week. All of this will impact the upcoming FedEx-St. Jude Championship week.
