King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort today announces the appointment of Revell Newton as the new General Manager of the 455-room property, situated on 55 acres of idyllic beachfront on the island of Hawaii. Newton, who served as the property’s Director of Sales and Marketing for the past year, brings over 25 years of extensive industry experience and deep local knowledge to his new leadership role.
In his new role as General Manager, Newton will oversee all operational aspects of King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, ensuring unparalleled guest satisfaction, increasing operational efficiency and fostering a deeper connection with the local community and culture. His vision includes strengthening the resort’s commitment to Hawaiian heritage while optimizing opportunities for leisure, corporate and group travelers. During his time with the property, Newton notably introduced the resort’s ʻO Kona kai ʻehu Sunrise Vow Renewal service, which offers a romantic morning ceremony designed for couples to rekindle their love and celebrate their lifelong promises. This complimentary offering includes a tranquil oceanfront ceremony, a heartfelt renewal of vows led by a licensed minister, enchanting hula performances, melodic serenades by a local guitarist and a signed vow renewal certificate.
Prior to joining King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, Newton held key leadership positions at luxury resorts on Oahu, Kauai and Maui, including General Manager of Aqua-Aston Hospitality and Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Castle Hospitality Group. His extensive hospitality experience also includes key roles such as General Manager of the Outrigger Waikiki, Hotel Manager at Sheraton Kona Resort, and Director of Sales and Marketing for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Waikiki, Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa and Kapalua Bay Hotel (a Luxury Collection Resort).
