Love Island USA winner Serena Page And Cordell Beckham made us believe in love again. Their relationship in Season 6 was a slow burn. At first, Serena pigeonholed Kordell as a “best friend” after a conversation about Cheez-Its and long-term goals (you had to see it to believe it). But by the end of the season, she was smitten. We couldn’t stop smiling as we watched the two fall in love this summer.
Now that the season is over, let’s take a look back at some of the winning couple’s best moments together:
When Serena did Kordell’s hair
Unfortunately, there are no hairdressers available in the mansion. Luckily for Kordell, Serena was there to help. She did his hair in one scene and it was beyond adorable. It felt like a bonding moment between the couple.
“I did my husband’s hair,” she said in a confessional. “I think we’re in a really good place.” Oh!
When Serena and Kordell got back together
Casa Amor claimed another victim when Kordell was seduced by Daia McGhee. After returning to the villa with a Casa girl, fans thought his romance with Serena was over. He explained that he wanted to continue getting to know both women, but not Serena (good for her). Fans were heartbroken to watch their argument, but thankfully they were able to patch things up. Kordell realized pretty quickly that Serena was the girl for him. He chatted with her and poured his heart out to her. He told her that he “always wanted her from day one” and that he was “willing to fight for her.” Um. We’re not crying, you’re crying!!
When Serena Kordell missed
Listen, it was brutal watching Serena lament how much she missed her husband while he was sticking his tongue down another girl’s throat at Casa. It was sweet, though, to see a more vulnerable side of her. Up until then, she kept her cards close to her chest. Kordell was always the more emotional one. She kept him at arm’s length for the first half of the season. It was sweet that she was thinking about Kordell the whole time. She had no interest in the new men. If only he could have done the same. Sigh!
When Serena didn’t kiss Nigel
Serena’s connection with Kordell was put to the test when bombshell Nigel Okafor chose her for a date. She went on the date, but it was clear that Kordell’s feelings were in the back of her mind. She didn’t want to kiss the new bombshell and told him that she had to be respectful to her current match.
When Serena and Kordell met each other’s families
Serena and Kordell had the opportunity to meet each other’s families at the end of the season. It was a big step for her. She even admitted that she was “nervous” to talk to his family because she wanted them to like her. How sweet!
When Kordell chose Serena
In the first episode, Serena had her eye on another Islander, but Kordell always wanted her. After Coye Simmons decided to court JaNa Craig, Kordell had the opportunity to match with Serena, and he took it. He didn’t hesitate when he had to choose between her and Hannah Smith. He told host Ariana Madix, “I don’t really have to think about it. I already know who I want, so it’s going to be Serena.” It would have been sweeter if she had chosen him first, but Coye Simmons is 6’1″. You can’t blame her!
When Kordell shared the money with Serena
Love Island always ends with a decision. The winning couple each receive an envelope, one with $0 and the other with $100,000. The islander who chooses the $100,000 either splits the money 50/50 or takes the prize pot for themselves. This is honestly such a weird way to end the show. Love and money don’t mix, do they? In the season 6 finale, Kordell chose the $100,000 and decided to split the money with his girlfriend. We don’t want to praise him too much for this. After all, it’s the obvious choice. But it was still sweet to watch him enthusiastically give Serena $50,000.
