If you’re an NFL fan, there’s research that shows what makes you tick, especially when watching your favorite team.
Nearly fifty thousand NFL fans around the world surveyed by Global Web Index.
I visited Dolphins superfan Kristy Rose’s home in Stuart to look at the poll and see how her family feels about the results.
Rose’s house is full of Dolphins memorabilia.
Rose, a married mother of two, said her household is described as: “Faith comes first, then family and football.”
According to the survey conducted before the 2015 Super Bowl, 80 percent of respondents said family was the most important thing in their lives.
This was most important to fans surveyed compared to other options. Rose’s fan status is consistent with the research findings.
56 percent of those surveyed who identified themselves as NFL fans were female.
When asked what makes her a huge NFL fan, Rose said, “I grew up playing football. I was a fan as a kid. We went to church in the morning. It was family day, my parents were Steelers and Browns fans, I’m sorry about that. But I’ve lived in Florida my whole life and we in this house are Dolphins fans anyway.”
The study also shows that NFL fans spend nearly two hours a day on social media, which Rose uses to let other fans know that her team is winning.
“They talk bad about New England because maybe they beat them all the time last season. It’s good to brag about that,” Rose said.
NFL fans were most interested in this survey about music, which Rose said resonates with her family.
“We’re big music fans at home. My son Logan is a drummer. We want to know who’s singing at the halftime show or how big our party is,” Rose said.
The survey also shows that the Olympic Games fit perfectly into the new NFL season.
When they’re not watching football, American NFL fans surveyed prefer to watch the Olympics over any other professional sport.
A gold medal combination for the new season on the football field.
