GREENVILLE, NC – After several games had to be postponed due to terrible weather in North Carolina, the Little League Softball World Series will resume on Friday.

ORANGE BRACKET
Canada (0-1) vs. Mexico (0-1)

Mexico had an unfortunate start to this year’s World Series, losing its first game to Austintown, Ohio, 6-0 on Sunday. Canada also kept a clean sheet in its first game of the tournament, losing 8-0 to Sterlington, Louisiana, on Monday. Whoever wins that game will play Salisbury later in the day.

After losing their first game of the tournament, Salisbury put in a convincing performance, beating the Idaho team 9-0 in their first elimination game on Tuesday.

Sterlington has not allowed a run in its first two games and has outscored its opponents 13-0. Austintown has also not scored a run in its first two games and has defeated Mexico and North Carolina (Salisbury) by a combined score of 8-0.
Either Ohio or Louisiana will advance to the first semifinal.

PURPLE BRACKET
Philippines (0-1) vs. Arizona (1-1)

The Philippines will be hoping to find some offensive firepower in the season, as they lost their first game to Winterville 10-0 on Sunday. Wilcox Little League took a step back after winning their first game of the LLSWS, losing 3-0 to Cranston (RI) on Monday. Whichever side wins will face the team from Pennsylvania in the afternoon.

Thanks to a narrow 2-1 win over Italy on Tuesday, Greensburg managed to stay in the World Series.

The defending World Series champions seem unstoppable. Winterville has won both games by a combined score of 26-0. Cranston Western Little League has only played one game so far, beating Arizona 3-0 on Monday.
