He did not respond to King’s opposition to his viewsSchneider apologized for the state of their relationship. Carlson then asked why Schneider didn’t fire back at his daughter’s words about him. Elle King spoke about the difficulties she had in her childhood because of Rob Schneider
Rob Schneider’s response comes after King recently addressed their relationship, where she spoke about her childhood and said they didn’t really get close until much later in life. She recalled constantly getting lost in the rush during filming days and getting into trouble if she interrupted a take. Another topic she spoke about was her weight and her tattoos, which King said have always been an issue for Schneider. King explained:
“I was like a really, really heavy kid. My dad sent me to fat camp… and then I got in trouble for a year because I sprained my ankle and still didn’t lose weight. I had already started getting tattoos and it was 100 degrees. So I had to wear sweaters because my dad was totally against tattoos and any form of self-expression.”
She also criticized him for his views. “You talk nonsense and you talk shit about drag and, you know, gay rights. And it’s like, you’re getting fucked.” This came after Schneider wrote a series of controversial tweets targeting the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. The event featured a rendition of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper,” but instead of the usual image of Jesus and his disciples, drag queens took their place. In another tweet after the ceremony, he added that the show was a “disgusting attack on Christianity” and “openly celebrates Satan.”
Schneider has been the subject of heavy criticism recently for his controversial views. At the time, King stressed that she had no intention of mending her relationship with her father and that she wanted nothing to do with him. She said:
“You can want someone to change as much as you want. You can’t control other people’s actions and you can’t control other people’s feelings. You can only control how you react and what you do with your feelings.”
Rob Schneider recently starred in Adam Sandler’s 2023 film Lion on Netflix and in the (somewhat ironic) comedy Daddy-Daughter Trip (2023), which he directed.
