BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (WAFB) – LSU announced the university awarded 1,061 degrees at its summer graduation ceremony on Friday, August 16.
The 317th graduation resulted in the highest number of degrees awarded during the summer graduation ceremony, with the previous record being 1,037 graduates in summer 2023.
These new LSU alumni and their hometowns can be viewed on the LSU Alumni List and LSU Graduation website.
According to LSU, 26 students graduated with honors. The graduating class represents 41 Louisiana parishes, 47 states and 36 countries. Women made up nearly 60 percent of the class, while men made up about 40 percent. The youngest graduate is 19, and the oldest is 69.
“Whether you live in Lafayette, Lake Charles, Los Angeles or London, you should be proud of all you have accomplished. We know that with an LSU education, you will be well prepared for the challenges ahead,” said LSU President William F. Tate IV.
Graduates will receive a digital version of their diploma—inspired by the diploma awarded to students in 1899—along with a diploma sleeve on graduation day. Printed diplomas will be mailed to graduates.
