Activision revealed its plans to optimize the Call of Duty Experience with your library at the start Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in October. The team has published a new blog outlining a roadmap for the upcoming changes to the game, but not quite in the way you might expect. In particular, HQ will see some changes and make the interface more user-friendly for players, both for the wide range of titles they have and for War zone players. Below we have a sampling of the changes they have revealed for you, as you can find the full rundown on their website.
Updating the Call of Duty Experience
We have heard your feedback and, together with our own testing and insights, have worked to optimize the way players Call of DutyThis begins with the revision of the experience formerly known as Call of Duty HQ. In the future, due to the upcoming changes, players will have:
- A new, optimized user interface
- Direct access to games
- More control over your downloads, including Call of Duty: Warzone Contents
- Advanced streaming technology to reduce file sizes
These changes will be rolled out gradually in a series of downloads. After these major initial updates, future Call of Duty Downloads will be smaller and existing files will take up less space on your device. As a thank you for your patience, we are giving all players in-game consumables that will be available upon first login to Call of Duty after the Season 5 Reloaded update.
Changes for War zone
To give players more control over what they download, we are decoupling the download from Call of Duty: Warzone from other titles. When you purchase an annual title, only the files for that game will be downloaded by default. On the Free-to-Play page, players can “opt in” to Call of Duty: Warzone when they download a new annual title or simply download it separately at any time. The choice is yours. Flexibility and choice are important. We want to give players the opportunity to download any Call of Duty, including Call of Duty: Warzonewhenever and however they want.
