Dakota Johnson denied reports that she and Chris Martin had split up.
“The reports are not true,” Johnson’s spokesman told Page Six just hours after the rumors surfaced on Friday.
“They are happy together.”
The rumors first emerged after a source told the Daily Mail that the couple, who have been together for over seven years, “have now come to terms with the fact that their relationship is over – and it’s best to move on.”
The rumors also arose because Johnson, 34, was absent from the European leg of Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” tour, which is completely sold out and is scheduled to end in Dublin, Ireland, on September 2.
This mood was further fueled by the fact that the actress did not wear her engagement ring from the 47-year-old singer all summer.
However, Johnson was last seen in June as the opening act for Martin and his band when they attended the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England.
The couple first started dating in 2017, three years after Martin split from his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. The singer has two children with Paltrow – Apple, 20, and Moses, 18.
Despite a brief separation in 2019, which neither Martin nor Johnson have confirmed to date, the two moved in together, which led to engagement rumors a year later.
At the time, she was seen wearing a green engagement ring on her finger. However, an insider revealed to us in March that the couple had been engaged for six years.
Since the beginning of their relationship, Martin and Johnson have remained fairly quiet about their romance. However, they have been very open about their co-parenting with Paltrow.
The three – together with Paltrow’s partner Brad Falchuk – have taken several trips together with the children.
In March, Johnson spoke to Bustle about her role as a stepmom, saying, “I love these kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.”
“Growing up in such a big family, I just believe in the saying, ‘blood is thicker than water,'” explained Johnson – whose mother, Melanie Griffith, married Antonio Banderas. “The actual saying is, ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,’ meaning that the bonds you have with people you choose are stronger than the bonds you have with the people you are actually born with.”
Paltrow, 51, and Martin married in 2003 but separated in 2014.
