The so-called “Magnificent Seven” – Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL), Nvidia (NVDA), Meta (META), Microsoft (MSFT) and Tesla (TSLA) – have been attracting Wall Street’s attention for some time, as many of these companies are heavily represented in major U.S. indices (^GSPC, ^DJI, ^IXIC). Although they have been affected by the recent sell-off, opportunities to rebuy are present, but which stocks deserve investors’ attention?
Summit Global Investments CIO Dave Harden joins Market Domination for Good buy or goodbye? to give some insight into which Mag 7 to buy after the recent sell-off.
Harden chooses Microsoft (MSFT) as his good buy, citing recent strong earnings performance that has exceeded many analyst expectations. In addition, he points to the company’s ability to monetize its AI developments, products and services, as well as its strength in the enterprise and cloud space.
Harden chooses Tesla (TSLA) as his valedictorian, citing the company’s current struggles with its core business of selling electric vehicles. He also says the company has a fairly long timeline for its AI products and services and that he believes CEO Elon Musk’s erratic behavior does not inspire confidence among investors.
