Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern brought Monterey to Los Angeles to support their co-star.
The actresses supported Zoë Kravitz at the premiere of Flash twiceher directorial debut, at the DGA Theater on Thursday, August 8th – and only Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley were missing from the Big little lies Reunion.
The trio posed together for a photo that also included Alicia Keys, and Witherspoon, 48, also brought her son Deacon Phillippe to the celebrity event.
Olivia Wilde and stars Adria Arjona, Christian Slater and Channing Tatum were also present at the premiere of the film.
Witherspoon recently had another Big little lies Reunited at the AFI Awards Gala in April, where she and Meryl Streep attended to support Kidman, who received the award.
During her speech, Witherspoon recalled that both she and Kidman had their eye on an adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s novel and “rather than fight it out in court or in some kind of televised boxing match in Las Vegas, we decided to team up.”
“Because there’s one thing Nicole knows for sure: collaboration is strong and sisterhood is even stronger,” Witherspoon said. “And that’s why I’m here tonight, sister. And I want to thank you for being a friend and the best colleague ever.”
It has been a while since the full Big little lies The five – Witherspoon, Kidman, Dern, Kravitz and Woodley – have been spotted together, but that will soon change as they are all on board for a third season of the hit HBO series.
Kidman accidentally confirmed a third season in November – a comment that Witherspoon said caused her phone to explode.
“This one has already been somewhere and said too much and then I get the call, the ‘ring, ring,’ like, ‘Hey, is this happening?'” Witherspoon said. Vanity Fair about the consequences of her co-star’s comments. “Then Laura calls me, and Zoë, Shailene. They all say: ‘Nic said we’re doing Big little lies 3.'”
Kidman said they are now working “fast and furiously” on the third part – and her 15-year-old daughter had a hand in it.
She told Vogue Australia that Sunday Rose, whom she shares with Keith Urban, recently watched the HBO series and told her mother, “There’s no more discussion. Season three has to come… I’m sick of the talk. I’m sick of going around and around. Just get it over with.”
