Jennie Garth was “really honest” with her fans this week, admitting she “struggles” with the “daily minefield” of menopause.
The 52-year-old former “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress shared a video on Instagram of herself working out at the gym and fanning herself to avoid overheating, writing that she’s been “struggling with working out lately.”
“My travel and work schedule, my body aches, not to mention menopause, are a daily minefield both physically and mentally,” she wrote.
“That’s right… I stay motivated by FORCING myself to exercise. I know that it will always make me feel better. But lately, sometimes it feels like my body is fighting against me.”
Garth said she had to “remind herself” to show her body some “grace” because of all the changes happening within her.
The “A Time to Dance” actress ended her candid message by thanking her personal trainer for his patience and understanding of her “beautiful, hardworking body.”
The “Without Consent” star also spoke to medical specialist Dr. Mary Claire Haver about menopause in the August 6 episode of her podcast “I Choose Me With Jennie Garth.”
The two dove deep into topics such as night sweats, joint pain and the “negative connotations” that come with menopause.
“Menopause is something that half the population will go through,” Garth shared at the end of the segment.
“I’m just really happy to be part of the discussion and use my platform to destigmatize the issue because it’s something we as women shouldn’t be ashamed to talk about.”
