Amid reports of the loss of one of the main actors, The running man is approaching the landing of one of the Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaThe actors for a supporting role. A new report claims that Katy O’Brian is set to star in the Stephen King adaptation.
According to insider Daniel Richtman, O’Brian is set to play an unspecified supporting role in The running manEdgar Wright’s long-awaited adaptation of King’s book of the same name. Since Glen Powell will play the main character Ben Richards in the film, O’Brian could play one of the two main characters from King’s book, Sheila Richards (Ben’s wife) or his hostage Amelia.

Running Man remake star Glen Powell gives a taste of what fans can expect from Edgar Wright’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s legendary novel.
The news of O’Brian’s possible involvement came after a report that Sydney Sweeney, who was set to star alongside Powell in The running man Restart would not be possible. With The running man Shooting was scheduled to begin in October, and the schedule was set to allow Sweeney to appear in the film. Sweeney’s possible reunion with Powell, with whom she had Everyone except youappears to be turned off.
The Running Man gets a new adaptation
The running man Reboot is the second version of King’s 1982 novel of the same name. The original film, released in 1987, is set in a dystopian future and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Richards, a game show contestant who tries to win money to save his terminally ill daughter. During the show, Ben tries to survive attacks by elite assassins. For every hour he survives and avoids capture, he receives bonuses, and if he survives 30 days, he wins the grand prize of $1 billion. The original film received good reviews but was a box office flop ($38 million worldwide on a $27 million budget). Powell insists the sequel will be more faithful to King’s original story, and has already hinted at the “outrageous” scenes.

O’Brian is known among fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for his portrayal of Jentorra in Quantumaniathe first Phase 5 MCU film, alongside Paul Rudd and the recently retired Evangeline Lilly. She also stars alongside Powell in Twistersthe well-received remake of the 1996 disaster film, Twisters. O’Brian plays Dani, a mechanic who is part of Tyler Owens’ (Powell) storm chaser crew, in Twisterswhich also stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos and Brandon Perea.
Also known as Imperial Communications Officer Elia Kane in Star Wars: The MandalorianO’Brian has recently Mission: Impossible 8 in an undisclosed role. Mission: Impossible 8 is currently in production in the UK after production resumed in March following the Hollywood strikes last year.
The running man There is no confirmed release date for the reboot yet. In the meantime, fans can watch the Schwarzenegger original by streaming it on Paramount+.
