WWE loads the card for the August 9 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Friday’s show will focus on the aftermath of WWE SummerSlam. As previously announced, Roman Reigns will make his first appearance since his return at WWE SummerSlam, where he cost Solo Sikoa his match against undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
WWE announced that #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) will face Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) in a #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. #DIY lost the titles to The Bloodline on the August 2 episode of WWE.
Likewise, Santos Escobar will face Andrade in a #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE United States Championship. LA Knight won the gold by defeating Logan Paul at WWE SummerSlam.
Speaking of Knight, he will be holding a celebration for the US Championship.
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes also hinted that he would be on the show.
