Cranston Western Little League Softball sent to World Series
The Thirsty Beaver Pub in Cranston is hosting a fundraiser Tuesday for the Cranston Western Little League softball team, which is headed to the World Series.

The New England Region champions inflicted a 3-0 loss on Willcox, Arizona, the West Region champions, Monday afternoon at Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park. Game 2 was originally scheduled for Thursday, but the remnants of Hurricane Debby changed those plans. Game 2 was initially rescheduled for Friday at 10 a.m., but when inclement weather canceled all of Thursday’s play, Little League changed its schedule again.
Instead, six games were scheduled for today, with the New England champions taking on the host team – Pitt County, NC – at 5 p.m.

How to watch Cranston Western vs NC
The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and was originally scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., but the start will be delayed because the previous game – Pennsylvania vs. the Philippines – is still in progress.
What’s next for Cranston Western?
The winner of the Rhode Island-North Carolina game will advance to the Purple Bracket finals, while the loser will play in an elimination game. Both games were scheduled for Saturday, but are now listed as “TBD” on the schedule.
The LLWS is a double elimination tournament (i.e., two losses are the only match). The winner of the Purple Bracket will face the winner of the Orange Bracket for the championship. Match date and time to be announced.
