British-Nigerian singer Darkoo has released a remix of her hit single “Favorite Girl” featuring Rema.
The 22-year-old announced the release of the song on all streaming platforms on Friday. The original song was released on May 2, 2024.
In “Favorite Girl,” Darkoo and Rema sing about their admiration for a romantic partner.
“You like that high life, my darling/ I love being your darling/ I try to show off with you, with you/ Fellow comforter/ She really is that A-list girl/ She really is my favorite girl/ I love the way you twirl/ You twirl/ In the Maybach/ She really is that A-list girl/ She really is my favorite girl,” they sing.
They also released a colorful video for the song.
Darkoo, born Oluwafisayo Isa, immersed herself in music from a young age and began her career as a drill rapper before moving into singing.
She gained popularity after the release of “Gangsta” in 2019.
Darkoo was nominated for “Best Female Act” and “Best Newcomer” at the 2020 Mobo Awards, while “Gangsta” was nominated for “Song of the Year”.
Rema, whose real name is Divine Ikubor, signed to D’Prince’s Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records, in 2019.
Since then, he has cemented his place as one of the leading figures in the African music scene.
At the 16th Headies won the awards for “Best Male Artist” and “Digital Artist of the Year”.
