There are tons of physical powerhouses in the Marvel Universe, but there are few who can match the physical strength of colossus And Moloch. These two characters are as strong as any other, which is why fans have always demanded to see the two fight. While Juggernaut almost always defeated Colossus, Piotr finally managed to get a win by taking inspiration from a friend.
Amazing X-Men #19 – written by Christopher Yost, with pictures by Jorge Fornes – Finally the big moment came when Colossus defeated Juggernaut. In this issue, Juggernaut seeks revenge after discovering that Cyclops killed Professor X. Since Charles Xavier was Juggernaut’s brother, he can’t just let Cyclops get away with it and plans to confront and kill him.
In the end, it was up to Colossus to stand his ground and block Juggernaut’s path to vengeance.
What ultimately made the difference was that Colossus finally realized that brute force would do no good in a confrontation with his unstoppable opponent, and instead took a leaf out of Wolverine’s book and fought less honorably to outsmart the Juggernaut.

Since he was not willing to let a member of the X-Men die, Colossus confronts Juggernaut in Amazing X-Men #19, and finally manages to bring him down. Although Colossus lost to Juggernaut for the most part, he tried his best and was ultimately able to win this encounter. What ultimately made the difference was that Colossus finally realized that brute force would do no good in a confrontation with his unstoppable opponent, and instead took a leaf out of Wolverine’s book and fought less honorably to outsmart Juggernaut.
Up to this point in X-According to lore, Colossus and Juggernaut have fought each other many times, with Colossus often being on the losing side. One of the first cases in which Colossus lost his mind was way back in Uncanny X-Men #183 – written by Chris Claremont, with art by John Romita Jr. In this classic issue, Colossus, while drunk at a bar, accidentally spilled his drink on the Juggernaut, leading to a brawl between the two that ended with Colossus left unconscious in the ruins of the destroyed bar.

Colossus used all his strength against Juggernaut, hoping that this time he might have the advantage, but he never managed to do so. That’s why Colossus eventually had to realize that it is not brawn that defeats Juggernaut, but a well-used mind.
Colossus and Juggernaut fought each other repeatedly over the decades, but Colossus’ first major victory came in Amazing X-Men #19, when Colossus finally realized that he couldn’t defeat the Juggernaut with sheer strength. Instead, he follows Wolverine’s fighting style and cheats. Colossus destroys the ground beneath Juggernaut’s feet, causing him to fall from a mountain and be eliminated from the fight.; a similar tactic was later presented in Poison annually (2018) #1 – written by James Stokoe, with art by Travis Lanham – in which Juggernaut was defeated when Venom destroyed the ground beneath him, leaving him defenseless against Venom’s brutal attacks.
When there are two characters with incredible physical strength, it’s natural to want to see which one is stronger. Colossus used his strength against Juggernaut time and time again, hoping that maybe this time he would have the advantage, but that was never the case. Juggernaut is one of the physically strongest characters in Marvel and has taken on the likes of Thor. Trying to defeat him in a straight fist fight is a futile endeavor. That’s why colossus had to realize at some point that it is not muscle power that beats Molochbut some well-used brains.
