King Charles III has made a surprising decision: Kate Middleton was preparing to visit him at Balmoral Castle after months of cancer treatment to enjoy her well-deserved vacation.
The monarch has taken a major step to ease the suffering of those who have lost loved ones in an attack by interrupting his summer holiday to visit Southport.
The 75-year-old, who began his official summer break at the iconic Scottish residence, will meet with the bereaved of the Southport tragedy which resulted in a mass stabbing on July 29.
The King, who is hosting the royal family at Balmoral Castle to spend time together after a break from hectic workloads and cancer treatment, will offer his condolences and support to the families of the victims of the deaths of three young girls.
The horrific incident occurred when a group of children were taking a Taylor Swift class at a sold-out dance center in the city and a knife-wielding gunman carried out the attack.
Six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar lost their lives in the attack, which sparked unrest in Southport and across the country.
The father of Prince William and Harry will also meet some of the surviving children who were present at the attack in Southport.
The King and Queen Camilla expressed their “deep shock” following the attack last month and conveyed their “most sincere condolences, prayers and deepest sympathy” to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives so tragically, as well as to all those affected by this horrific attack.
