Middle Tennessee has some of the best high school football kickers in the state in its ranks and the next 11 weeks during the regular season will prove it.
Now it’s time to vote for who you think will be the best kicker in the 2024 season, which begins this week.
Here are the 12 candidates you can choose from:
Will Arbuckle, Pope John Paul II: Arbuckle returns to the Knights with a strong, accurate leg from the 2023 season. He made 7 of 9 field goals for 34 yards. He made 22 of 26 extra points and had a 32-yard punt average.
Khalil Arman, Riverdale: Arman made six 40-yard field goals and his 56-of-60 extra point attempts were among the best in Middle Tennessee on a Warriors team that averaged 35.6 points last season.
Andrew Bingham, Independence: Bingham punted 41 times last season for a 40.1 average. He had 12 inside the 20 and was named TSWA All State.
London Bironas, Brentwood Academy: The son of the late Tennessee Titans legend Rob Bironas made 14 of 14 extra points and 5 of 9 field goals for 38 yards last season.
Andrew Crabtree, Ravenwood: Crabtree had 12 touchbacks in six games last season and made 32 of 33 extra points.
Daniel Echeverria, Mt. Julia: Echeverria made 10 of 12 field goals for the Bears in 2023, made all 31 of his extra points and made 3 of 5 field goals over 40 yards. His longest field goal was from 50 yards. He also averaged 41 yards on his punts.
Camden Holiday, CPA: Holiday was a consistent scoring threat for the Lions en route to the DII-AA title, making 39 of 41 PATs and 6 of 9 field goals for 39 yards.
Max Kelley, Gallatin: Kelley averaged 38.1 yards on punts, with nine of them coming inside the 20-yard line. He made 33 of 38 extra points and 9 of 12 field goals on 45 yards.
Roman Mathis, Davidson Academy: Mathis took advantage of his opportunities last fall, making 10 of 13 field goals for 47 yards. He made 54 of 56 extra points and barely returned a kickoff on 40 touchbacks. He also averaged 38.5 yards on punts, including four inside the 20-yard line.
Gavin Rush, Page: Rush had a 37-yard punt average and completed 22 punts inside the 20-yard line. His longest punt of 63 yards last fall was one of the best in Middle Tennessee.
Cole Shulman, Lipscomb Academy: Shulman has an Australian punting style. He has a strong leg and averaged 39.1 yards on his punts last year with 16 kicks inside the 20-yard line.
Wells Stanley, Centenary: 75 percent of Stanley’s kickoffs were touchbacks. He made 52 of 55 extra points and 3 of 4 field goals.
