Apple has announced that its partnership with Major League Baseball will continue next month. 26 weeks of games culminating in a series of top matchups will stream on Apple’s streaming service. Fans in 60 regions can tune in without local broadcast restrictions as long as they have an Apple TV+ subscription.
Many popular teams will be competing against each other. Next month, we have games for the San Francisco Giants (September 6), Boston Red Sox (September 13) and Philadelphia Phillies (September 20). While we don’t claim to be baseball experts, we noticed that Apple is showing these games with some cutting-edge picture and sound features that piqued our interest.
Apple claims it will give viewers “an unprecedented viewing experience” with advanced cameras that “deliver vivid live-action footage.” It’s also said to sound super immersive, with broadcasts in 5.1 surround sound and Apple Spatial Audio enabled. If serious baseball fans really want to get into the action, Apple is even showing the MLB broadcasts on the Apple Vision Pro headset.
Additionally, Apple has launched the Apple Sports app, which allows users to follow stats and scores while watching the broadcasts on Apple TV+. Apple Music users can also listen to exclusive playlists featuring the official walk-up songs and baseball songs, which can be streamed in Dolby Atmos and lossless audio quality.
These baseball broadcasts can be found on the Apple TV app, which comes pre-installed on a variety of Apple devices, including Apple TV 4K, iPads, iPhones, Macs, and Apple Vision Pro. Third-party devices such as TVs from LG, Samsung, Sony, TCL, and streaming devices from Amazon and Roku are also supported, as are the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
