The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has eliminated any possibility of fraud at petrol stations in the implementation of the Cylinder Recirculation Model (CRM).
According to NPA, this is due to the use of automated machines to fill empty bottles in the various bottling plants.
NPA Communications Manager, Mohammed Abdul-Kudus, made the announcement on Adom FM Dwaso Nsem Program Tuesday.
“These concerns have arisen, but we buy all canned products and we do not doubt the quantity because we know that the content is automated. So the cylinders will also be sealed automatically. There will be no human interface that poses a risk of fraud.
“There will also be a scale available so that if in doubt you can weigh your bottle to check the measurement. This way we can assure you that there is no reason to doubt the quantity,” he explained.
The CRM aims to ensure that at least 50 percent of Ghanaians have access to safe, clean and environmentally friendly liquefied petroleum gas by 2030.
In addition, access to LPG should be improved, the safety of LPG distribution should be increased and the use of LPG should be increased.
Furthermore, it is a change of course aimed at preventing unnecessary loss of life and property, as well as the failure of petrol stations, which is mostly due to human error.
Despite opposition from some stakeholders, Mr Abdul-Kudus noted that the policy was proceeding smoothly.
