Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams were spotted holding hands after weeks of romance speculation

After weeks of rumors, Paul Mescal and Gracie Abrams were spotted holding hands together – and fans believe they are officially a couple.

Normal people Star Mescal, 28, and “Close to You” singer Abrams, 24, first sparked rumors that they were dating when they were spotted together at a restaurant in June of this year.

Abrams will also be on the Gladiator II Star in her song “Normal Things”, with fans suspecting the lyrics were veiled references to Mescal’s breakout role in the series, based on the book by Sally Rooney.

The pair were spotted shopping together in July and have seemingly kept a low profile since then, but now it seems they have given up their pretense, according to new pictures and footage obtained by the newspaper. Daily Mailin which Mescal and Abrams walk through London holding hands.

Mescal has his arms around the pop star while she holds onto his fingers. She is then seen playfully biting Mescal’s thumb as he fakes a wince.

The couple were reportedly on their way to the Mountain Restaurant in Soho.

The actor became famous when he appeared as the scholarly and athletic Connor Waldron in Normal people alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones, which led to great interest in his love life outside the show.

But the actor said last year that he was determined to keep his love life private after his split from Boygenius singer Phoebe Bridgers attracted much media attention.

“When Normal people came out, I was very open in interviews and it didn’t really help me,” he said Vanity Fair. “But the temptation is still there to say, ‘Shut up. This is my life. This is what is happening here. Or this is what not continues.'”

He then explained that it would be of no use to him to speak publicly about his relationship.

“But I will keep my life as private as possible. That’s hard to achieve. But giving strangers an answer about my life doesn’t really help me,” he continued.

“It’s like a quick serotonin rush, like you think, ‘I said what I needed to say.’ And then it’s just Twitter fodder.”

Mescal and Bridgers began dating in 2020, and rumors of their engagement first surfaced in April 2022. During Mescal’s interview with The Guardian In November of that year, the publication wrote that he and Bridgers were “reportedly engaged.”

The Independent has contacted representatives for Mescal and Abrams for comment.

However, the magazine later retracted this claim, leading to rumors that the couple had split up.
