Venezuela suffered its first defeat in its Little League World Series experience, losing a 2-1 game to Japan in the championship round on Monday, setting up an elimination game against Aruba. The Aruba team has won two straight games in the elimination rounds, most recently defeating Australia 11-0 on Sunday. The winner of that matchup will play the loser of the championship semifinal between Japan and Taiwan in the consolation semifinal on Wednesday.
