Brooke Mueller is supported by her twin sons after becoming involved in the investigation into Matthew Perry’s ketamine death.
Charlie Sheen’s third ex-wife posed for a photo with Bob and Max, 15, on Saturday as she celebrated her 47th birthday at the Beverly Hills, California, home of her mother Moira Fiore and stepfather Jon Fiore.
“I am very grateful for my children,” Mueller said at the event, according to the Daily Mail.
The harmonious image came just days after federal agents arrested and charged five people in connection with Perry’s death last October.
As Page Six previously reported, authorities obtained a search warrant for Mueller’s home and eventually confiscated her computer and phone. The “Possessed” actress was in rehab at the time to treat her drug problems.
However, authorities questioned Mueller about her long-standing friendship with the late “Friends” star, but she was never accused of any wrongdoing.
Instead, several authorities worked together and came up with the idea that two doctors, Perry’s personal assistant, a so-called “ketamine queen” and an acquaintance had allegedly illegally administered the drug to the “17 Again” actor.
“These defendants exploited Mr. Perry’s addiction problems to enrich themselves. They knew what they were doing was wrong. They knew they were putting Mr. Perry in grave danger, but they did it anyway,” U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said during a press conference last week.
“Ultimately, these defendants were more interested in profiting from Mr. Perry than in caring about his well-being.”
Officials announced that Perry’s assistant, Kenneth “Kenny” Iwamasa, admitted to administering the final dose of ketamine that ultimately killed the sitcom star.
Iwamasa, 59, pleaded guilty on August 7 to conspiracy to distribute ketamine resulting in death and faces 15 years in prison in his federal case.
The searches also found text messages between now-arrested doctors Mark Chavez and Salvador Plasencia in which they discussed how to get Perry to pay more money for ketamine.
“I wonder how much this idiot will pay,” read one of the messages, and also, “Let’s find out.”
The “Fools Rush In” star was found floating facedown in his hot tub on October 28, 2023, and was pronounced dead at the scene. His autopsy report found that he died from the “acute effects of ketamine” and listed the cause of death as accident.
The autopsy report listed other circumstances contributing to his death as drowning, coronary heart disease and the effects of buprenorphine, a synthetic opioid used to treat substance abuse.
Perry was 54.
