BAMBALAM (FR) (Persian king {Ire})the most expensive offspring of his sire to be sold at auction when he became the fourth most expensive lot at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale in April, makes his debut in this valuable and always exciting British Stallion Studs EBF Convivial Maiden Stakes. The 600,000 Guineas purchase trained by Richard Fahey for KHK Racing, who is a half-brother to the Group 3-placed Ritournelle (Fr) (Camelot {GB}), faces some promising types with the benefit of his experience. These include the €1 million purchase Arqana May Breeze-Up, trained by Amo Racing’s Ralph Beckett Angelo Buonarroti (Justify) whose only run came when she was beaten by three lengths in the G2 Coventry Stakes; Ballydoyle’s Curragh mare, who took her first place Whirlwind (Anger) (Wootton Bassett {GB}), whose dam is a full sister to Galileo’s Hydrangea (Ire), The United States (Ire) and Hermosa (Ire); Hidetoshi Yamamoto’s Ultrasoul (Irish) (Kingman {GB})a Roger Varian-trained son of the G1 Prix de Diane heroine Channel (Ire) (Nathaniel {Ire}), who finished second on her debut at Yarmouth to the day’s G2 Gimcrack Stakes contender Shadow Of Light (GB) (Lope De Vega {Ire}); and Wathnan Racing’s Realign (Fr) (Blue Point {Ire})a William Haggas-trained Arqana May Breeze-Up purchase for €550,000 who also chased Shadow Of Light at Newmarket.

Verse Verse (Ire) (Siyouni {Fr})the 550,000 Guineas half-sister of the Tattersalls October Book 1 G1 Nassau Stakes winner Al Husn (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}) was too eager at the start and after fighting her way to the front she lost ground in the straight when she dropped to eighth place.

“TDN Rising Star” from Sunderland Holding Sea just in time (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) was withdrawn from this Listed British EBF & Sir Henry Cecil Galtres Stakes.
