DENVER (KUSA) – A man in Denver is trying to figure out why packages containing Donald Trump jerseys keep randomly showing up at his home.
Since mid-July, Rick, who did not give his last name, has received nearly 20 of these jerseys in the mail.
Rick said he didn’t order any of them.
The jerseys feature an illustration of Trump holding beer cans on a beach and the text reads, “Chilling like a felon.”
“I ripped open (the packages) and there was a Trump shirt and I thought, how the hell did I get in there?” Rick asked.
Rick said he received a jersey every two to three days without explanation, each time from a different person from a different state.
“I didn’t order these,” he said.
Finally, he received a jersey with a return slip enclosed in the package and now believes he has explained the mix-up.
Rick believes people are trying to return the shirts from TikTok’s online store, but for some reason they end up at his house.
“Somehow I became the sender address of TikTok,” Rick said.
KUSA called all the phone numbers on the return labels to see if Rick’s theory was correct. It turns out it probably is.
A man in Utah said he wanted to return the shirt and simply took the package to UPS with a return label and let them do the rest. It ended up on Rick’s doorstep.
The man also said he did not receive his refund and had no idea his package never arrived back at the warehouse.
Rick isn’t sure how the mistake happened, and he wonders how many more jerseys will arrive before Election Day.
“I agree with taking these off the market, that’s fine… But wow, yeah, I’d kind of like it to stop,” he said.
USPS said it is investigating the situation.
