Greek restaurant King Gyros, located at 400 South Hamilton Road in Whitehall, will be featured in a new episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” Friday at 9 p.m.
The episode is about King Gyros’ “Greek gangster food” with “flavorful favorites like sumptuous lamb chops and the signature stuffed grape leaves,” says the episode description.
King Gyros first announced its appearance on the show in a Facebook post on August 18, inviting customers to speculate on what would be featured on the show.
“What do you think Guy Fieri saw about King Gyros to feature it on an August 30 episode of Diners, Drive-ins and dives? What could it be, tell us! Family recipes? Garlic gyros sauce? Main dishes like dolmades and lamb chops? Fresh-cut fries? Housemade baklava and cheesecake? Freshly brewed tea and lemonade? 33 years of consistent taste and service? Yianni’s story: Born on the Greek island of Rhodes and moved here at age 10? A combination of takeout, drive-in options and a mural-like dining room?” the restaurant’s post read.
King Gyros is also hosting a watch party on Friday at 9 p.m. with select food, photo opportunities and a projector showing the episode on the store’s patio.
