How did Lake Mary win the Little League World Series?
Lake Mary Little League came to Williamsport representing the Southeast by winning the regional tournament in early August. On the U.S. side of the 10-team tournament, Lake Mary won two of its first three games, losing to Texas 4-1.
Florida’s next five games were elimination games, including a 10-7 win in the U.S. final on August 24 to avenge its loss to Texas.
The finale on August 25 was a comeback victory in which Lake Mary tied the game with a run in the final inning of regulation and won two innings later on a walk-off bunt.
