ATLANTA (August 29, 2024) – Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Peach Bowl, Inc. open the eighth annual Peach Bowl Touchdowns for children (T4C) fundraising campaign. The money raised through the campaign goes directly to the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund, which is currently funding 14 clinical trials and Phase 1 studies to find potential cures and treatments for childhood cancer. The Peach Bowl Legacy Fund Benefits for the Aflac Cancer and Blood Diseases Center of Children’s, one of the largest pediatric cancer centers in the country.
The season-long campaign offers football fans and alumni the opportunity to donate to Children’s every time their favorite college football team scores a touchdown during the regular season. In its eighth season, T4C has raised more than $3.9 million for Children’s patients, including $1.9 million in direct donations from Peach Bowl, Inc. This year, the goal is to raise $400,000, and Peach Bowl, Inc. will again generously match all pledges per touchdown and donations.
“We look forward to college football season every year and the impact alumni and fans have on our patients and families affected by childhood cancer,” said Dave Winokur, development officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “With Atlanta’s dedicated college football fans, Children’s and Peach Bowl supporters on our team, there is no doubt it will be another successful year.”
There are several ways to get involved, including setting up a per-touchdown amount or a one-time donation. Participants can also create a team fundraising page where their supporters can donate directly or a group fundraising page to join with others. The Champions for Children program is also returning this year, offering top supporters the opportunity to receive VIP tickets with food and beverages to the 2024 College Football Playoff Quarterfinals at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, as well as corporate recognition and other exclusive benefits. The bowl will be held on New Year’s Day, January 1, and will host the first quarterfinal game in the newly expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.
“We are honored to partner with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for this worthy cause. Every single donation and touchdown this season will make a difference,” said Gary Stokan, CEO and President of Peach Bowl, Inc. “We hope Atlanta’s passionate college football fan base will be the true MVPs so together we can support the effort to eradicate childhood cancer.”
The individual or organization that raises the most money at the end of the regular season will be awarded the 2024 Anna Charles Hollis T4C Trophy. The trophy is named after Anna Charles “AC” Hollis, a former patient of the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center who passed away from acute myeloid leukemia in September 2018. Anna Charles is the daughter of Benji Hollis, VP of Sales at Peach Bowl, Inc.
