Netflix has released the first trailer for its new romance series “Nobody Wants This,” starring Adam Brody from “The OC,” ahead of its release next month.
Created by Erin Foster, the comedy centers on the unusual relationship between Joanne, an outspoken agnostic, and Noah, an unconventional rabbi. Brody plays Noah and The Good Place star Kristen Bell plays Joanne.
In addition to starring in the series, Bell also serves as an executive producer alongside Steven Levitan, co-creator of the acclaimed sitcom “Modern Family.”
All 10 episodes of Nobody Wants This will appear on the streaming service on Thursday, September 26.

“From the moment they meet at a friend’s dinner party, both realize there is something between them,” says the series’ official logline.
“But what may also lie between them are their different outlooks on life, all the modern obstacles to love and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families – including her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Timothy Simons).”
The hilarious trailer sees Joanne recording a podcast with her sister Morgan, in which she admits she could make “healthier relationship choices.”

She then meets Rabbi Noah over a lavish dinner and the two quickly begin a relationship. However, they soon encounter obstacles as their families become suspicious of their decisions.
“You have to admit, you’re an odd couple. He’s responsible, nice,” Morgan notes. “Tattoos, thick neck, light criminal record – he’s much more your type.”
Noah’s mother Yulia deeply disapproves of his relationship and then secretly warns Joanne that she will “never get together with my son”.
As the two grow closer, they must decide if their bond can overcome all adversities. Noah asks, “Is there a world where this works?”

Michael Hitchcock from “Glee”, Jackie Tohn from “GLOW”, Sherry Cola from “Joy Ride” and newcomer Shiloh Bearman complete the cast.
Speaking to TUDUM, Foster explained that she wanted to base the show on her own experience of falling in love with a Jewish man, calling it “the only good decision I ever made.”
She added: “I realized that being happy is a lot harder than being unhappy – there’s nothing to complain about. So I created this show based on all the reasons why finding the right person can be so difficult.”
