I don’t believe in reincarnation, but there must be one Johnny Cash There is blood somewhere in this child’s body.
Andrew Logan Hensley is known for singing the odd Cash cover, and to say the kid sounds like and resembles him would be a bit of an understatement.
Two years ago, he posted a clip covering The Man In Black’s 1956 hit. “I walk the fine line,” and it made us all believe in ghosts. And it got him quite the viral mega-reaction.
And now Hensley recently released a full cover of the song, and it’s real.
It’s always cool to see kids who can sing with a voice that sounds about five times older than they are. Colter Wall is a great example, as is Jake Kohn, as well as American Idol contestant Luke Taylor, and now this kid. I mean, how do these kids get their voices so deep? Because I know they’re too young to be (legally) smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.
It must simply be a pure, God-given ability.
“I Walk The Line” was written and recorded in 1956 and became Cash’s first ever number one hit.
How about a little “Green Green Grass of Home”
He also delivers a pretty good rendition of “Amanda” by Don Williams/Waylon Jennings.
And speaking of cash covers…
Punk rock street artist brought down the internet with a Johnny Cash cover
Back then, there was a man named “Punk Rock Johnny Cash,” aka Jesse Morris, who rose to fame many years ago. He eventually became a fixture on the Bay Area busking scene.
At first glance, you see a guy in punk rock clothes who looks like he just came from a NOFX concert, playing guitar in some sort of subway station in San Francisco’s Mission District.
But when he started playing Johnny Cash’s 1970 hit “Sunday Morning Coming Down,” which of course was written by the legendary songwriter Kris Kristofferson, Jaws nearly dropped to the floor. He sounds EXACTLY like Johnny.
Simply a phenomenal rendition of The Man In Black.
Tragically, Jesse suffered from mental health and addiction issues and committed suicide in 2011.
REST IN PEACE.
