COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – In honor of Black Philanthropy Month, the Central Carolina Community Foundation (CCCF) Midlands Gives initiative aims to support Black-led nonprofits.
Give 8/28 is a day of giving dedicated to grassroots black nonprofits, focusing on online fundraising and crowdfunding to empower and support these communities.
WIS News 10 spoke with several nonprofits involved in Midlands Gives and Give 8/28.
WIS News 10 Sunrise met with representatives from Every Black Girl, a national campaign and program focused on creating a world where every black girl can succeed.
WIS News 10 Sunrise also met with Kristie Jordan, the director of Positively Influencing the Community with Heart (PITCH Inc.). The nonprofit focuses on alleviating the hardships of poverty by meeting residents’ immediate needs through a food-focused mutual aid program, hygiene kits and providing children with school supplies.
