Scooter Braun hilariously poked fun at Taylor Swift over the star-studded event she hosted at her $17 million Rhode Island mansion last weekend.
The retired music manager announced in his Instagram story late Tuesday that he had “finally” watched the Max documentary “Taylor Swift vs Scooter Braun: Bad Blood,” which describes the much-publicized dispute between the two over his acquisition of their master licenses.
However, the jibe that immediately followed took a funnier turn when he shared TMZ’s Instagram post with pictures from the “All Too Well” singer’s party and wrote: “Why couldn’t I have been invited?!?”
Braun, 43, added in the bottom corner: “#laughalittle.”
Swift’s soirée, reportedly held in honor of Blake Lively’s birthday, was attended by Travis and Jason Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and others.
The dispute between Swift, 34, and Braun began in June 2019, when she posted a tirade on Tumblr claiming the music executive had “robbed” her of a “life’s work” that she could never buy.
“I had to make the agonizing decision to leave my past behind,” Swift wrote, adding that Braun’s acquisition of her catalog – from her self-titled debut album in 2006 to 2017’s “Reputation” – was a “worst-case scenario.”
Braun, however, told a different story, telling Variety that he asked Swift to meet with him “multiple times” – but she declined.
“I regret and it makes me sad that Taylor reacted to the deal in this way. … Everything that happened was very confusing and not based on any facts,” Hybe’s CEO told the trade publication.
“I don’t know what story she was told.”
The “Style” singer eventually admitted to Vogue that she did not try to buy back her master copy files when the opportunity arose and Braun eventually sold them for more than $300 million.
“I had to invest in either my past or my future and that of other artists, and I chose the future,” Swift said.
The “Lover” singer eventually announced that she would re-record all the albums she had lost and has already released four of them: “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)”, “Red (Taylor’s Version)”, “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”.
She also released several original albums as part of her contract with Universal Music Group, giving her complete control over all future master recordings.
Since 2018, Swift has released the original albums “Lover,” “Folklore,” “Evermore,” “Midnights,” and “The Tortured Poets Department,” in addition to the new recordings.
