Ludacris recently traveled to Alaska and he couldn’t go all the way there without checking something off his bucket list – or as he calls it, his “fuck it list.”
The Atlanta rapper turned actor posted a video on Instagram on Monday of himself drinking glacier water from Alaska, sparking concern among his fans.
“Half of the world’s glaciers are here in Alaska. I couldn’t just come here and put on a show. I have a list of things I want to do – or as I like to call it, the shit list. I’ve never tasted fresh glacier water in my life and this is the first time. Here we go,” he said as he took a sip of water. Luda ended the clip on a cliffhanger, exclaiming, “Oh my God.”
Glacier water is said to contain substances that are harmful to the body and invisible to the naked eye, such as bacteria, parasites and viruses. Therefore, it is not recommended for humans to drink unless it has been properly purified.
“…how long ago did he film this and were we monitoring him?” Ice Cube’s son, actor O’Shea Jackson Jr., responded to Luda in a viral tweet that received more than 270,000 likes.
Ludacris gave an update on his health on Wednesday (August 28), reassuring fans and claiming that Alaska’s glacier water is the “best tasting water” he has ever drunk in his life.
“To all of you who asked me what the glacier water actually tasted like,” he said. “When I tell you, I’m a water snob, it was the best water I’ve ever had in my life, and when I drank it, it felt like every cell in my human body was being hydrated and regenerated at the same time… Listen, man, I’m here. I feel like Superman.”
Following the Glacier Water scandal, Ludacris continues his tour this week, with performances scheduled at state fairs in Oregon and Colorado before heading to Las Vegas to perform at the Zouk nightclub to close out Labor Day weekend.
