Chevy Chase takes on a new role – that of grandfather!
The “Saturday Night Live” star’s daughter, Emily, gave birth to her first baby with Alex Baglieri on August 1.
“💕 Ivy Jay Baglieri 💕 08.01.2024,” the new mother wrote on Wednesday under an Instagram photo of the baby’s feet.
The actor revealed the 25-year-old’s pregnancy news in an Instagram post in March and raved that he “can’t wait to become a grandfather!”
Chase, 80, posted a sweet snapshot of him and Emily’s partner each placing a hand on her baby bump.
The then-pregnant star shared more photos on her own account, including a silly one of her and her father “touching pregnant bellies.”
The Emmy winner has Emily and her sisters – Cydney, 41, and Caley, 39 – with his third wife, Jayni Chase.
Although many reports say Chevy is also the father of a son named Bryan Perkins, who was reportedly born in 1979, Emily refuted that assumption in March.
“It’s beyond weird that we have a mysterious fake half-brother who is regularly reported to be part of the family,” she told her Instagram followers.
“Who IS he?” Emily asked. “Where did this unbelievable rumor come from? Why isn’t his last name Chase? ❤️ you imaginary Bryan.”
Chevy was notably married to Jacqueline Carlin at the time after separating from his first wife, Suzanne Chase.
The “Community” alumnus and Jayni married in 1982.
Emily often posts sweet family snaps on social media, including some in honor of Chevy’s 80th birthday in September 2023.
“Today the great Dab is 80 and what a damn life he has lived,” she gushed about her then-BFF. “From driving a cab in New York to hosting the Oscars multiple times, he has done more and lived harder than anyone I know.”
“At his core, he is deeply loving, sensitive, and a hilarious pain in the ass,” she continued. “We wouldn’t have it any other way. Happy birthday to the best, most soulful, sweetest, most annoying dab there is.”
