One of Prince Harry’s friends has criticised King Charles for making “really bad decisions” regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex amid the ongoing royal feud.
The ally of the king’s youngest son sharply criticized Charles’ handling of the exclusion of Harry and Meghan from an important briefing ahead of the late queen’s funeral.
The couple had initially expected to meet with senior royals at Buckingham Palace on the eve of the funeral, but it was decided that only working members of the monarchy would be allowed to attend.
This resulted in Harry and Meghan missing a crucial meeting before the funeral, and Harry did not receive the notes until 11pm that same evening.

The Duchess of Sussex has not returned to the UK since attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.
Harry’s friend told the Sunday Times: “The king made some really bad decisions – you could tell he didn’t want her there.”
“Hell, this was a worldwide reception for his grandmother, and as her grandson he should have been there.
“Shortly before the reception, there was a bereavement meeting for the whole family at the palace, which would have meant that Harry and Meghan would have had to go to the meeting first and then leave the palace as all the guests arrived and other family members were there.

“So in the end they didn’t go. The briefing notes didn’t reach them (by email) until around 11pm.”
The relationship between Prince Harry and his father has been strained in recent years after the Sussexes repeatedly publicly attacked high-ranking members of the royal family.
The Duke of Sussex last saw his father in February 2024, when he rushed to the United Kingdom following the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.
Harry has only travelled to the UK twice this year, partly due to the belief that returning to his birth country would not offer him the level of security he needs.

A source close to the king said: “His Majesty’s son is suing His Majesty’s government and this is very sensitive for the king.
“If they were to meet, there is concern that the son would influence the father because he mistakenly believes the king is in control of his security.”
“It is frustrating that he has not accepted the judgment of His Majesty’s Government and courts.”
