A woman driving an SUV and two children riding with her were injured when their vehicle left the road and struck a tree on Route 87, halfway north of Montoursville, about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to state police.
The woman, traveling south in a Nissan Rogue, left the road, drove through the parking lot of Snyder’s Country Pet Store, bounced off a tree and continued driving a short distance before hitting another tree, police said.
The woman was taken to UPMC Williamport with serious injuries, while the two schoolchildren, a boy and a girl, were taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville with moderate injuries, emergency responders said.
In addition to state police, firefighters from Montoursville and paramedics from Loyalsock Township responded to the accident.
