On Tuesday at WWE NXT, Ethan Page confronted TNA star Joe Hendry about his disrespect. However, the altercation caught the attention of NXT General Manager Ava Raine, who made changes to Page’s upcoming title match at No Mercy against Hendry and added Trick Williams as the special guest referee. After the distraction of Williams’ performance, Page attempted to land an unfair blow on Henry, but instead suffered his opponent’s finisher. The show then ended with an unconscious Page while Hendry celebrated the NXT Title alongside Williams. After the embarrassing exchange, Page made a brief backstage commercial to promise his revenge.

Page said he had a message for all those who believed in Hendry, criticising the crowd for singing along to his opponent’s song while he was unconscious. “At No Mercy, you all put yourselves in a position to get your hearts broken! Oh, please believe in Joe. I want you all to believe in Joe and keep doubting ‘All Ego,'” he said. The champion then boldly claimed that if he drops the ball against Page, the dreams of all Hendry fans at No Mercy will be shattered.

In addition, Page commented on the exchange with Williams and Hendry at X, where he denounced the “lack of respect” Raine had shown him and the two men, as well as the fans who had silenced him. “Tonight was the low point of the champion’s career. Sunday will not be the same,” he posted.
