Open-back headphone specialist Shokz has launched its latest bone conduction sports headphones, the OpenRun Pro2. The new headphones were recently unveiled at the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) World Series finals, for which Shokz is the official headphone supplier.
OpenRun Pro2 is made of lightweight, high-strength material with a soft silicone surface and focuses on all-day comfort… “designed so that the user forgets that he is even wearing headphones.”
Priced at £169 in the UK, OpenRun Pro2 features Shokz’s signature open-ear design, ensuring users remain immersed in their workout while staying connected to their surroundings.
“Whether it’s traffic or other joggers, every important sound is picked up to ensure your safety and enrich your listening experience. OpenRun Pro2 intelligently optimizes the volume range for clearer sound, even when you’re on the move.”
OpenRun Pro2 uses DualPitch technology. According to Shokz, this offers … “a perfect duet between a bone conduction and an air conduction speaker, with the former reproducing the mids and highs with absolute precision, while the latter releases controlled, deep bass. The result is an incomparable listening experience that is as clear as it is powerful. The vibrations of the bone conduction are also reduced accordingly.”
Shokz’s ultra-thin, all-metal bone conduction driver handles high-frequency sounds and delivers clearer highs and full, natural mids thanks to its high sensitivity and rigidity. The new innovative design with double tongue and coil structure stabilizes the vibration system and helps to provide users with a purer vocal sound.
“The low frequency air conduction driver is designed to process low sound waves to produce a more booming, deeper bass. The reinforced, featherweight dome-shaped diaphragm coupled with a patterned ring made of PU material achieves a larger amplitude without compromising audio balance, resulting in flawless sound even at high volumes.”
Leon Du, Europe Market Director at Shokz, said: “As a flagship product, we have perfected the sound quality of OpenRun Pro2, allowing consumers to better enjoy music while keeping their ears open. There is no doubt that OpenRun Pro2 takes open-ear audio to the next level.”
Available in two sizes and two color options, the device allows users to play music for up to 12 hours with a larger battery and no extra weight. The larger battery, coupled with two intelligent drivers assigned specific roles, improves battery life while reducing power consumption.
With Quick Charge, a 5-minute charge provides 2.5 hours of playtime. Additionally, a waterproof USB-C port allows charging via an included cable or the user’s own.
Shokz adds that double protective layers and a secure charging port cover create an impenetrable barrier against water while maintaining charging.
The OpenRun Pro2 also benefits from MultiPoint pairing, which allows you to switch between two devices without the hassle of pairing. It also features an IP55 waterproof design with a double-layer mesh structure and a nanohydrophobic coating to ensure resistance to the elements.
