Adam Sandler says his family supported Taylor Swift’s romance with Travis Kelce from the beginning.
During Sandler’s appearance on the podcast of Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce, New heightsThe Kansas City Chiefs tight end mentioned that the actor brought his daughters to the premiere of Swift’s Epoch Tour Concert film in Los Angeles.
“By the way, what a girl, what a girl,” Sandler interjected, as Kelce beamed. “Dude, she means so much to our house.” Sandler said his daughters have been fans of Swift since they were “little,” and he quickly became a fan himself.
“Taylor, in our house, (my kids) knew every tune, they knew every word,” Sandler added. “I love listening to her in the car. I love what she had to say; every message, every tune, the staging, how cool she was, what she meant to young girls, what she meant to women, what she meant to men who do the right thing in life.”
He recalled that his family was thrilled when Kelce and Swift started dating. “My God, my family was like, ‘Yeah! Look how good they are together. Look what a gentleman he is and how much fun she has with him,'” he said. “When Taylor laughs with you, my whole damn family high-fives.”
“So good, man. You’re making me sweat here,” Kelce replied.
Sandler also admitted that when asked who made him nervous, he always answered Swift because he didn’t want to “mess it up in front of (his) kids and say something stupid.”
The comedy icon’s affection for the NFL star goes beyond his relationship with Swift. He recently announced that Kelce will be appearing in the long-awaited sequel to Happy Gilmore. In the podcast, Sandler revealed more details about Kelce’s role in the film. “Travis, we’re going to have fun because the scene you’re shooting is with so many great golfers,” he teased. “It’s going to be great. You’re going to be funny as hell.”
