The rumor mill is buzzing.
“NFL Live” host Laura Rutledge and sports reporter Adam Schefter had an entertaining debate about whether Travis Kelce has already bought an engagement ring for Taylor Swift.
During Tuesday’s live show, Rutledge discussed the Kansas City Chiefs star’s latest business move: becoming co-owner of a three-year-old racehorse named Swift Delivery.
“Travis Kelce recently made a big purchase,” she said in the clip.
“No, not an engagement ring, but it was close to Swift. The Chiefs tight end (bought) a racehorse named – wait a minute – Swift Delivery.”
Rutledge’s brief remarks about a ring prompted Schefter to ask an important question.
“How do you know Travis Kelce didn’t buy an engagement ring?” he asked, to which Rutledge replied, “I don’t know, do you?”
While the 57-year-old NFL insider remained silent, Rutledge, 35, asked, “Are you going to announce big news here?”
After a long pause, Schefter replied, “I’m just saying, you said he didn’t buy an engagement ring, and I’m wondering where you got that information?”
Then football commentator Booger McFarland interjected: “This awkward silence here speaks volumes, Schefty. Do you know something, Schefty? America wants to know.”
Schefter replied, “I simply asked how Laura knew he hadn’t bought an engagement ring. That’s all I did.”
Rutledge ended the segment by saying she would “go back and look at this again and analyze Schefter’s facial expression.”
Earlier this month, sources exclusively told Page Six that Kelce and Swift, both 34, will be engaged “soon.”
However, the tight end’s spokesman denied that there were any official plans for a commitment.
There has been speculation that the couple – who will go public in September 2023 – are already engaged.
During country star Morgan Wallen’s concert on August 1, we were told that a top Chiefs executive was overheard telling friends in a suite that Kelce had already proposed to the Grammy winner.
Page Six also reported last December that NFL star Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, had asked for her hand in marriage.
A source close to Kelce told us, “Scott was asked for his blessing and gave it wholeheartedly, and Travis has talked to friends about a ring.”
